Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were out and about in Shenley on Saturday, January 11, to provide reassurance and advice after burglaries took place in the area.
Burglaries were reported in Greenwood Gardens in Shenley on Monday, December 23, and in Greenwood Gardens, Charrington Close and Laxton Gardens on Friday, December 27.
NPT officers knocked on almost 100 doors to speak with residents and give out burglary prevention booklets, timer switches and signal blocking pouches for vehicle key fobs.
The following day, officers set up a stall outside Tesco Express on Andrew Close, where they spoke with shoppers to pass on advice and discuss any concerns.
PCSO Cheryll Lavell, who organised the events, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with us over the weekend. Many residents expressed their gratitude, and we’re pleased the visits were helpful to them.”
Herts Police say the team’s proactive patrols and engagement events will continue in an effort to try and deter further offences.
