A Bushey charity has announced a new initiative in partnership with a Watford hospice to help people affected by loss.
Red Trust Bushey has partnered with Peace Hospice Care to launch a new Compassionate Café, which aims to encourage anyone affected by loss to join others for a chat and a cup of tea.
The café will be hosted at Red Trust’s Red Café in the Phoenix Centre on Farrington Avenue and will launch on Saturday, June 3.
Following the launch, the Compassionate Café will be open on the first Saturday of every month between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
The Red Café manager Katie Smith said: “This partnership is a perfect fit for both our organisations and helps to further offer support and kindness to bring people together in their local community to help one another.”
The Red Café offers a varied menu of hot and cold snacks and drinks, homemade cakes, and sweet treats. Alongside the café, there are arts and crafts, a toy corner and a selection of books and magazines. The Red Café runs on donations and is pay-as-you-feel. Everyone from the local community is welcome to attend.
