Staff from a local charity shop were thrilled to be featured on a national television show promoting second-hand shopping and sustainability.
Emmaus Hertfordshire’s Tring store featured on ITV’s Lorraine show last month, where Dilly, co-host of the BBC1 show Sort Your Life Out, visited the Nineteen 49 store on Tring High Street.
Speaking to TRINGnews, Emily Horwood, Tring shop manager, said: “It’s been really positive and really nice to reach a wider audience! People have been messaging us from all over the country saying they are coming down to see the shop for the first time. It’s always nice to bring more attention to the charity.”
The segment, entitled How to Second-Hand Shop, involved Dilly browsing the items on display, trying on new pieces, and giving her top tips for second-hand shopping.
Emmaus Hertfordshire, a homelessness charity, is opening its new Letchworth store later this month and is looking for more volunteers.
Emily continued: “I’ve been manager here for seven years and when I came into this role, I knew I wanted to create a nice environment and a memorable shopping experience.
“And that is what I have been working on, building this into a nice shopping experience.”
