A back road linking Hemel Hempstead to Berkhamsted has been closed because of a large sink hole.
Repairs are being carried out on Hempstead Road in Potten End. It is not expected to be reopened until May 17.
Diversions for traffic were set up, and metal and plastic fencing was erected around the hole.
Last week sinks holes appeared in Welwyn Garden City and St Albans.
On Tuesday, around 20 residents were evacuated from their homes in Martlesham, Welwyn Garden City when a hole appeared and the area was cordoned off.
Elm Drive in St Albans, around eight miles away, was shut to traffic on Wednesday after another appeared hole in the middle of the road.
