CLASSES FOR UKRAINE: Stanmore resident holding wellbeing sessions to raise funds for refugees

Published on: 7th April 2022   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Stanmore mentor and author is hosting a Zoom Wellbeing Meditation Group to raise money for Refugee Support Europe.

The group sessions run by Sarupa Shah (pictured) will start on Wednesday, April 20 and continue every Wednesday until May 25, consisting of six sessions in total.

Sarupa, who runs The Soul Agency, a company aimed at coaching people to reach their full potential, said: “Each class will take you through a journey of meditating and help you develop and improve your practice, and doing it together is where the magic really begins. All the money goes to charity – so your payment is helping others.

“The focus is wellbeing and self-care – something that often gets overlooked as we are too busy for ourselves, or busy meditating trying to figure out life stuff – which isn’t really meditating!”

Sarupa says the sessions will help participants:

  • Learn how to create more space for you using meditation
  • Destress and find inner peace
  • Experience a deeper connection with themselves
  • Receive more meditation techniques and tools that will support them
  • And each week the meditation part will be recorded for you to keep.

The minimum donation to join the class is £60, which works out as £10 per class.

Refugee Support Europe was founded in 2016 to protect and support people who had fled violent conflict. The charity has now set up an emergency fund to support Ukrainians.
