After a difficult few years following on from the pandemic, which saw youth numbers dwindle, Kings Langley Cricket Club are seeing a resurgence with their youth teams.
The Under 11s had a tremendous season in the Hertfordshire Junior Pairs League, taking home the title and winning the league by more than 80 points.
A spokesperson for the cricket club said: “All team members tried their hand at bowling and saw the fruits of their winter net training, when they not only bowled more than 30 maiden overs and took 64 wickets, but also conceded far fewer ‘extras’ for wide or no-balls.
“Facing the hard ball can be intimidating, but the team stepped up and scored a total of 742 runs over the course of the season… though some of the pairs continued to test the loyal parents’ nerves with their ‘brave’ runs!”
