CITIZENS ADVICE: Radlett support service experiences ‘unprecedented surge in demand’

Citizens Advice (CA) Hertsmere has declared that the past year “marked an unprecedented surge in demand” for its services.

Aldenham Parish Council (APC) has agreed to continue funding CA Hertsmere’s drop-in sessions in Radlett and even allocate further funds to extend opening times.

In 2023, CA Hertsmere assisted 266 clients in Radlett with 1,438 separate issues.

An official report published by APC and the support service states: “Notably, there has been an appreciable uptick in the number of individuals grappling with food insecurity, with six per cent of residents who contacted us reporting immediate hunger or inability to procure food.”

For those unable to travel to CA’s office in Borehamwood, the Radlett outreach sessions have proven invaluable.

All are welcome to attend the drop-in clinic from 10am to 3pm every Tuesday at The Radlett Centre. Alternatively, you can call 0800 144 8848 or visit their website.
