Villagers in Abbots Langley got together on the evening of Thursday, December 1 to welcome in the beginning of Advent and the Christmas season with carols and a light switch-on.
Organised by Abbots Langley Parish Council and St Lawrence Church, the free event saw shops open late into the night, and traditional songs performed by carollers and the Watford Brass Band, before the village’s Christmas lights were turned on.
A collection was also organised in aid of the Friends of St Lawrence.
