Members of Harrow Choral Society (HSC), many of whom are from Northwood, hosted their popular Christmas concert in the Speech Room of Harrow School on Saturday, December 13.
Marking a wonderful start to the festive season, the concert featured both new and traditional Christmas music from the choir, as well as audience participation carols.
Carols were arranged by composer and singer Jonathan Rathbone, accompanied by the 13-piece Byron Ensemble, which included strings, woodwind, percussion, harp and piano.
Soprano soloist Jessica Cale, winner of the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Award in 2020, was also welcomed by the choir.
The performance was conducted by music director Sam Evans, and in addition to the Byron Ensemble, the choir was accompanied on the organ by composer and arranger Paul Ayres.
Looking ahead, HCS’s next concert will be a performance of Dvořák’s Stabat Mater on Saturday, March 28, at St Alban’s Church, North Harrow.
