Residents have been left angry and disgusted after discovering a 74-year-old pensioner from Watford was charged with nine child sex offences.
The man was arrested in March 2025 and charged with four counts of attempted sexual communications with a child, four counts of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act on Thursday, January 8.
Since the charges, the man has now been released on bail and is due to appear at St Albans Magistrates Court for a first court hearing on Friday, February 27.
All the alleged offences will be formally presented to the defendant, where he may be asked to enter a plea.
