A park in Stanmore has again been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Awards making it one of the best parks in the UK for its high standards and facilities. Canons Park received the award which was announced at the end of July. The awards recognise the best parks and green spaces across the country. Harrow’s parks are among over 1,000 parks and green spaces across the UK which boasts beautifully maintained open space and excellent facilities. Cllr Graham Henson said: “We are delighted that five of our parks have again been awarded the Green Flag status for high quality maintenance and facilities available. Harrow is one of the greenest boroughs in London with lots of parks and open spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy. “I’d like to say thank you to all our staff and park volunteers who work extremely hard in maintaining and keeping our parks and open spaces to a high standard so that they can be enjoyed and used by residents, community groups and visitors.”
