OUR CUP OF TEA: Garston’s football fanatic Megan revives podcast while in the USA

Published on: 2nd August 2021   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

A former Garston girl who is now doing her masters in Kansas, USA, has recently rebooted a women’s soccer focused podcast and she would love some English listeners.

Football obsessed Megan Warner, born in Garston and a former Parmiter’s school pupil, moved to the USA to pursue her dream to play football in 2016.

She played for and captained both the Daytona State Falcons and Webber International Warriors.

Megan is currently playing in the United Women’s Soccer (UWS) in Florida for Unity FC whilst studying for a Masters in Kansas during term time.

Whilst playing in the UWS she has restarted ‘Our Cup of Tea’ a talk show that talks all things women’s football.

Megan spoke to GarstonNews and said: “I have been involved in football ever since I can remember and I love being able to give back to the sport so when the opportunity arose for me to be on Our Cup of Tea, I jumped at the chance.

“My co-hosts and I are female footballers who have a passion for growing the game and we hope that our show do that.”

Megan’s sister Lauren added: “As her family we are super proud of Megan. She has made sure she has taken every opportunity available to her to be involved so heavily in the sport she loves, she’s definitely a great role model for younger girls who love football.”

You can catch the show weekly on Saturday mornings or catch up anytime on the UWS YouTube channel youtube.com/channel/UCQZEz5Er1v_olbUjq9-UdFA
