The maternity unit at Watford General Hospital has been evacuated after a small chemical spill, with police and fire service currently on the scene.
Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue confirmed the incident, and that several engines and a decontamination unit were there as a precaution.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus are now making sure the area is safe and cleaning up the spillage, with the incident not thought to be serious. The fire service added that they expected to be handing back control of the situation to the hospital management shortly.
