Three Rivers history buffs are in for a treat following the installation of piece of equipment which ensures that the park’s heritage continues to be celebrated.
As part of a collaboration between Three Rivers District Council, the University of Hertfordshire’s Heritage Hub and others, eight fascinating oral history recordings have been captured.
The recordings offer poignant interviews where people share stories and reflect on their memories of the Hospitals and the Aerodrome that once stood on this site and nearby.
As a way of encapsulating these treasured stories, the council recently commissioned South Wales based Blackbox AV, to create the state-of-the-art bespoke design of the Listening Hub.
Councillor Chris Lloyd, lead member for leisure, commented: “I was fascinated by these treasured oral history recordings and it really helped me to appreciate the wonderful history that sits behind the park.”
