Footballing legend Alan Shearer was at the launch of Watford Leisure Centre Woodside’s new state-of-the-art fitness concept, FORTIS, powered by Speedflex.
The Premier League’s all-time top goal-scorer, who is an ambassador for Speedflex, attended FORTIS’ grand opening on Monday, January 17 to share his love for the fitness classes with local residents.
FORTIS, a HIIT-based training concept, offers the renowned Speedflex model to deliver what they call “HIIT Without the Hurt”.
Their team pride themselves on offering an affordable, accessible and inclusive workout, where everyone from athletes to new exercisers can work out to their maximum, in exactly the same class.
Self-confessed HIIT fan, Alan Shearer, supported the new studio at Watford Leisure Centre Woodside to showcase the power of HIIT workouts, which are fun, effective and safe for all.

FORTIS is a 30-minute HIIT workout based around Speedflex’s unique personalised resistance concept, allowing every participant to train at their optimum level.
The studios also include FORTIS branded functional movement stations for unlimited variety of workouts.
The workout is combined with MYZONE to provide members with live heart rate data and feedback on their effort level.
