CHASE LONG: Officers find abandoned sofa containing class a drugs in Pinner

Published on: 10th July 2024   |   By: Panayiota Demosthenous   |   Category: Uncategorized

The Hatch End Safer Neighbourhood Team discovered a peculiar sofa on their routine checks last month, containing suspicious parcels and Class A drugs.

In a post shared on their social media page, the team explained that they were on a “routine adventure” to Shaftesbury Playing Fields. The team often patrol Hatch End in this way, for knife sweeps, routine checks and general community reach. They anticipated finding some “hidden treasures” but instead found something more sinister.

The post said: “As they explored further, they stumbled upon an unexpected abandoned sofa. Intrigued, they delved into its depths and unearthed four suspicious parcels of suspected CLASS A Drugs.

“The illicit discovery was promptly seized and sent off to Wembley for a grand exit. Oh, the thrill of the chase!”

Pinner South Safer Neighbourhood Team responded: “Sofa, so good. Clearly, the team don’t slouch when searching a couch. Did you not find any potatoes down the back of it?”

“Amazing find”, seeing as we had already reported this online to the police and tried to contact The Hatch End Safer Neighbourhood Team, with little success, in the end we reported it to the council as a fly tip. Local dog walkers were concerned with the huge amount of grip seal bags and chicken bones and glass scattered around. We have also repeatedly reported online concerns with this area with regard to the grip seal bags, lit “camp fires” in the wooded area, but no action…only when it’s time to take credit eh!

It seems strange that my comment on this article appears not to have been posted or have been removed. We have been complaining about the anti social behaviour, drug activity and “camp fires” in this immediate area, we have reported online to the police, on more than one occasion we reported the abandoned sofa around the 8th June and received ZERO response, in the end we reported it to the council as a fly tip and all of a sudden The Hatch End Safer Neighbourhood Team publicise their miraculous discovery!
