Dancers twist their way to success

Published on: 9th July 2018   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Members of a dance school which performed at the Abbots Langley Carnival last month were celebrating after they won a prestigious competition the week after.

Twisted Cheer and Dance took part in the carnival parade and impressed the crowds with two fantastic performances on June 9.

The following week they took to the competition floor at the British Cheerleading Association’s Summer Showdown in Guildford. They won two divisions and were crowned the overall grand champions of senior dance. They also took two second places and three third places in the cheerleading divisions.

Head coach Ben Vasey said he was proud of how all the athletes performed.

He added: “Cheerleading is a sport with teamwork at its core. We can’t wait for our Open Sessions that will take place in July. They are the perfect chance for new athletes to stunt, jump, tumble and dance with our current athletes”

Twisted Cheer and Dance will have 11 teams next season, covering all age groups and abilities from four upwards, for both boys and girls, in cheerleading and contemporary dance.

Kelly, a parent of an athlete who has been part of the Twisted family for three seasons said that her daughter used to lack a lot of confidence but since joining Twisted Cheer has really come on leaps and bounds.

She commented: “I couldn’t thank Ben and his team enough. They are encouraging and fun. I couldn’t recommend Twisted Cheer and Dance enough.”

Twisted Cheer and Dance’s teams are open to new members from the Monday July 9.

They will have open sessions running from July 9 so get in contact with them at info@twistedcheeranddance.co.uk or call Ben on 07510 319436 to book your place!
