Chaos descended on the M25 yesterday as the carriageway was completely closed in both directions following reports of concern for the welfare of a man on a bridge over the motorway.
The carriageway has been completely closed in both directions to allow officers to work to bring the man to safety. The closure caused significant tailbacks in both directions and congestion on surrounding routes.
The man was removed from the bridge and the motorway was reopened at around 10pm
