Residents have spoken out about a new bus route, stating that it is “useless for commuters” due to its limited schedule.
The new 107 bus serves The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross, and travels to Amersham, Chesham and Slough, as well as providing access to Chalfont & Latimer station.
However, residents have complained about the inconvenient times of the service, which can lead to overcrowding and means some passengers have been left stranded in the evening, as the new 107 service does not operate after 6pm.
Chalfont St Peter resident Karoline Lamb said: “This service is useless for commuters and anyone else that goes to London in the afternoon. We can now get to the station but cannot come back.
“If this service is continuing, then buses should run until 8pm so that commuters can use it. This would then be an excellent service.
“As well as that, because of the new 107 service, we have lost our good service of the 104 that went to Amersham station until 8pm.”
Gerrards Cross resident Karolyn Ray said: “The 106 used to go at 7.40am to Chalfont St Peter every morning – they have ditched this and now combined it with a school bus, it seems.
“It goes at 7.55am now, always crowded with school kids and people getting on at every stop, so I am always late. I would love them to have one earlier so it’s not so full.”
Chalfont St Peter resident Elaine Shiffirg expressed her general unhappiness with the bus provision in the area, stating: “There is a lack of bus services to anywhere from Chalfont St Peter. Try getting to Wycombe Hospital and you will fail.
“The village is being let down, especially with getting to Chesham. Not everyone has a car or enough money for a taxi as exorbitant fares make it out of reach.”
Carousel Buses have been contacted for comment.
