Chorleywood Parish Council (CPC) has recently adopted a new environmental sustainability action plan.
The plan comprises three main pledges, the first of which is to make changes to CPC’s own premises, people and the services it delivers to ensure water, resource and energy efficiency; to increase use of renewable energy; and to invest in sustainable transport.
The second pledge is for CPC to use its powers and influence to improve biodiversity and air quality and to check the adherence of planning applications to local sustainability objectives.
The third pledge is to facilitate education and awareness initiatives by promoting walking and cycling, encouraging sustainable activities, and potentially making a film showcasing creative ways of thinking about the environment.
Councillor Debbie Rosario, the chair of CPC, said: “I am delighted that the parish council has adopted an environmental sustainability action plan.”
