CCTV APPEAL: Rickmansworth man wanted in theft appeal

Published on: 22nd March 2022   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police are asking for members of the public to help identify a man they say may be connected to a distraction-based theft that took place in Rickmansworth.

Between 12:15pm and 12:45pm on Thursday, February 17, a woman using a cash machine inside the Barclays bank in Church Street was approached by a man who first distracted her, then stole her bank card.

The card was eventually cancelled, but not before it was used to withdraw several hundred pounds from another machine.

Investigating officer PC Kieran Llewellyn said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in this image. He was in the area at the time of the incident and could help us with our enquiries.

“I appreciate the man is wearing a face covering in the image, however someone may recognise him from his clothing and build and help us to identify him.”

To share information, PC Llewellyn can be contacted at Kieran.Llewellyn@herts.police.uk. Information can also be reported via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s website, their online webchat or by calling the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number 41/13553/22.

To report information anonymously, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their website.
