Officers investigating a theft in Watford are releasing a CCTV image of two people they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries. At around 11.30pm on Thursday, December 28, the female victim was walking along the underpass at the end of High Street, which leads to Hempstead Road, with a friend when two men approached her from behind and one of the offenders snatched her handbag. They made off on towards Hempstead Road. PC Sam Davison, who is investigating, said: “The victim was not injured during the theft but was left extremely upset by the ordeal. “I would like to speak to the two people pictured in this CCTV image as they may have information that can assist our investigation.” Anyone who recognises the people pictured or has any information that may assist the investigating is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference C1/17/7318 or report information online at www.herts.police.uk/report. Alternatively, you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will never need to go to court.
