CCTV appeal following a robbery in Watford

Published on: 9th August 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Detectives investigating a robbery in Watford have released an image of a man they would like to identify as part of their enquiries.

It happened at the Esso garage on St Albans Road just after 6.20am on Sunday, July 14.

The victim, a male member of staff, was working behind the till when a man entered the kiosk and approached the counter.

The offender produced a knife and threatened the member of staff, demanding that he hand over money from the till.

The victim, who felt fearful, handed over a quantity of cash before the offender left the kiosk.

Detective Constable Julie Vint, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “Thankfully the victim was not physically injured after his ordeal but he was understandably shaken by what happened.

“We have made a number of enquiries and we are now keen to identify the man pictured as we believe he may have information that could prove vital to our investigation.

“He is wearing quite distinctive clothing and headwear so if you recognise him, please get in touch.”
