Around 12.55pm on Thursday, September 26, an elderly woman was targeted by thieves in a distraction robbery that occurred at the Esso petrol station on High Road.

It is reported that the woman was told by a man to visit a nearby cash machine to stop her getting a parking gone. While he did this, her card was taken.

The suspect is described as an Asian man, aged in his late 30s, approximately 5ft 7inches tall and of a small to medium build.

He was wearing a black jacket and black trousers.

PC Luke Hinchliffe, from the Bushey and Radlett Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am urging anyone with information to contact police.

“We are asking for people to be on their guard in car parks or petrol garages and report any suspicious behaviour to us immediately via 101. If you are unsure about anything you are directed to do while in a car park, please go back into the petrol station or store and ask staff inside.”

You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/80584/24, or stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.

Herts Police have now confirmed that all lines of enquiry have been exhausted and no suspect has been identified. However, should any new investigative opportunities become available, they will be acted upon accordingly.
