DOODLE DAY: Artists showcase their work at annual Open Studios event in Hemel Hempstead

Published on: 16th October 2024   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Last month, three Hemel Hempstead artists took part in the annual Herts Open Studios event.

For the 2024 instalment of the exhibition, which enables artists and makers to open their studio doors to the public, Cal Hoy, Anna Schofield and Katharine Harper, also known as Big Day Doodles, invited visitors to view their artwork.

Cal, who hosted exhibitions every day throughout September, hosted a display of paintings at the Old Town Hive Coffee Shop.

Katharine hosted exhibitions at Ebberns Road throughout September, with sessions featuring illustrations, impressionist photography, acrylic paintings, wild fibre basketry, and doodle portraits of people, pets, and places.

Anna’s passion for recycling and upcycling was on show in her mixed media art exhibition at her studio on Market Lane.

The trio were just three of 162 artists who hosted exhibitions across 77 venues throughout Hertfordshire over the course of the event.
