A Watford man has been charged with 13 offences after a car was stolen in London Colney before several other drivers were reportedly threatened on the A405/M1.
James Heaney, 27, of Boundary Way in Watford appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Tuesday, October 15, charged with robbery, threats with a bladed article (knife), dangerous driving, six attempted robberies, two counts of criminal damages, assault by beating and affray.
He is due to next appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
At around 5.40pm on Tuesday, August 20, a Ford Mondeo was stolen from Telford Road, London Colney and was driven to the A405 North Orbital Road, just before the M1, where it was abandoned.
A man left the vehicle and reportedly threatened several drivers before officers attended and he made off into undergrowth. Officers, including resources from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Dog Unit, conducted a search of the area with support from the police helicopter.
