Candyboat comes to Apsley

Published on: 20th October 2017   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

A couple from the Midlands have moored their barge at Apsley Lock this week and people are in for a real treat if they visit them.

Trevor and Gail Levers run the Candyboat from their barge which takes them all around the country, selling a variety of sweets and fudge for everyone’s taste. Gail told My News Magazines that she and Trevor have now been doing this for five years and they really enjoy what they do. She said: “Trevor got made redundant five years ago and we decided that we would give this a go and it has worked it really well. “We travel all over the country to places such as Victoria Park in London, Liverpool, Leicestershire and Oxford. Gail added that the barge also trebles up as their home and holiday home but she explained that mooring in London and the home counties is becoming more difficult. “We try and come here to Apsley once a year but the closer you get to London, it becomes more difficult to moor so we then turn around and head back up north” added Gail. After their week long busman’s holiday in Apsley, Gail explained that they were heading towards a Christmas Fair in Stoke Brewing, just outside Milton Keynes. The barge is situated just opposite The Paper Mill pub so if you have a sweet tooth pop along and savour the flavour. For me information about the Candyboat visit www.candyboat.co.uk
