A play area for children reopened in Berkhamsted earlier this month after a major refurbishment.
On Thursday, August 4, the Canal Fields play area opened following a complete refurbishment, designed to improve the play experience for younger children.
The project involved the installation of modern and inclusive wooden play equipment to replace the old metal structures. Climbing frames, slides, swings and benches have been built, alongside a new sandpit. A castle and train-like structure have also been constructed.
The transformation was funded by contributions from local developments.
Councillor Graham Barret and councillor Graeme Elliot met with Rob Cassidy, the parks officer, before the opening of the park to explore the grounds.
Cllr Graham Barret said: “It’s fantastic that we have been able to use money from local developments to fund the much-needed improvements to this very popular local park. It has a fantastic range of equipment for children of all ages, providing families with a great place to visit throughout the holidays and all year round.”
