People in Watford and beyond are being asked to help a primary school pupil in the town who is battling leukaemia.
The child, who attends Orchard Primary school, Watford is in need of an urgent blood stem cell donation, and needs help in finding a potential donor match. It would increase the chances of a suitable match if people registered as a donor. This is a simple and painless process.
Orchard Primary School is holding a Donor Registration afternoon where potential donors can come into school to register themselves and provide a mouth swab which will determine suitability on Thursday (January 18) from 1.45 to 4.00pm at Orchard Primary School, Gammons Lane, Watford WD24 5JW.
The child’s family said: “We hope you will register yourself as a potential donor and should you require further information about this process please see the link to the DKMS website which should provide you with the information you require https://www.dkms.org.uk/en/frequently-asked-questions
“We look forward to seeing you at our Donor Registration event in the hope that we can find a suitable donor.”
It would help if the child’s race and nationality were stated as you are more likely to find a donor of the same race.
Thank you for your comment. I will ask the question
