A charity shop in Chalfont St Peter is in desperate need of more volunteers and high-quality donations.
The Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care shop on The Broadway recently hit headlines following the donation of a vintage 1980s Lego ship, while a 1970s jumper recently sold for £150.
Speaking to CHALFONTS&GERRARDSCROSSnews, manager Kate Walton says that the reality is they are “not overrun with amazing donations”.
She said: “More and more people are selling anything they have of any worth on sites like Vinted or Ebay and donating lower-value items to charity shops. While we do make some money from lower-value things, we’re ideally looking for higher-end, quality donations. Donations are so important – the money raised from one quality handbag could fund an hour of nursing care.”
Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care provides free, specialist care and support for adults and children with life-limiting illnesses.
If you are interested in volunteering, pop into the shop and have a chat with Kate.
