Conservative Neil Harden has won a seat for Hemel Hempstead Town at the by-elections on Thursday, November 21.
He comfortably won the seat with 347 votes, with second-place Liberal Democrat candidate Aatish Pattni finshing with 174 votes.
Labour have also gained a seat on Dacorum Borough Council, with Lin Greenfield winning her seat in Bennetts End.
With 18 seats, the Conservatives are now the tied largest party, after Liberal Democrats lost their majority in September.
