A former Croxley schoolboy is proving to be one to watch in the footballing world, going from strength to strength since signing for Manchester City Under 18s.
Luca Fletcher, 17, who attended York House School, signed for the Citizens in August 2023 from Reading. He has already scored three goals this league season at the time of writing, building on his tally of 10 across the last campaign.
Speaking to Man City’s media team on Saturday, October 19, after scoring in an emphatic 5-0 win against Blackburn Rovers, Fletcher said he’s enjoying himself in Manchester.
He said: “I feel like there’s a real buzz between all the players, so it’s really good. We’re all playing really well at the moment.”
Since signing for City, Fletcher has also been called up to play in the UEFA U17 European Championships in Cyprus between May and June.
Fletcher, who played for the Chipperfield Corinthians growing up, was given a professional contract by Manchester City on Thursday, July 25.
