BUSINESS BOOST: Financial support available to Hertsmere businesses affected by pandemic

Published on: 27th November 2020   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hertsmere Borough Council is urging Radlett and Bushey business owners to check their eligibility for government grants during the current coronavirus restrictions and act now to apply.

Councillor John Graham (pictured), portfolio holder for finance and property, said: “The council is once again putting plans in place to administer the new set of government schemes designed to support the many businesses that have been adversely affected by the second set of lockdown measures.

“Please check on eligibility requirements and apply online as soon as possible to ensure that your claim is processed promptly.

“As with previous schemes, our Revenue and Benefits team is working tirelessly to allocate these monies.

Grant funding is available for all rated businesses required to close during the second national lockdown, whether or not the businesses have any rates to pay this year.

Visit hertsmere.gov.uk/businesssupport for more information about eligibility and how to apply.

A discretionary grant fund is also being made available for businesses that are not required to close but have been severely impacted by lockdown measures during the coronavirus pandemic.

This is known as Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) and has been given to local authorities to enable them to support businesses more broadly.

Fuller details will be publicised soon and the council will be making these funds available from December.
