Bushey and Oxhey FC are working in partnership with the Grenada Football Association to make sure that their players’ outgrown boots get to children who really need them.
The boot-dropping sessions were created by Stuart Adams through his #inspires initiative, which was set up in memory of his friend Kevin Spires.
The club had Trevor McIntosh visit them from Grenada recently, where he met with Stuart and his son, Marley, who is also a player for Bushey and Oxhey FC.
There are plenty more developments taking place at the club – for the first time in its history, they now have two U18 teams.
One of the teams, the U18 Dragons team and their managers Simon Walldock, Brian Curran and Sean Lawlor, completed the 10k Rough Runners Obstacle course recently in Finsbury Park.
The Dragons’ run included three father and son groups and was in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
If you’d like to show your support to the Dragons and donate to this amazing charity, please donate www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dragons-rough-runner
Also, you don’t have to be part of Bushey and Oxhey FC to donate as all football boots will be welcomed by the club.
Contact welfare@busheyandoxheyfc.co.uk to enquire about giving away your boots.
