A four-year-old from Kings Langley has been busy helping keep the local environment clean with the help of her trusty litter picker.
Bonnie, who lives in the village, has started going out litter picking almost every weekend with her mum in the local woods.
Her mum Jo Ryan said that the family regularly took walks in the woods before Bonnie started noticing the increasing amount of litter.
She said: “We have two dogs which we walk in the woods in the weekend and she began to become annoyed at the litter.
“We started off by using a poo bag and then someone watching suggested getting her a litter picker.
“She loves it and frequently asks to go litter picking.”
Jo added that Bonnie is not just aware of the litter but conscious of its impact on the environment.
She said: “She does know it’s an issue. Recently someone had dumped a load in the woods, and she said, ‘look mummy there’s loads.’
“I suggested coming back another day, but she didn’t want to leave the rubbish there.”
Jo posted pictures of Bonnie with her litter picker on the Kings Langley Matters group which has since received over 400 likes.
She said: “I was really shocked when we get over 400 likes. I just thought everyone has a moan on there sometimes, so I thought it would be nice to post something positive.”
