A Pinner resident has opened a café in Northwood after being inspired by her daughter.
Neha Lakhani opened Bubbles on Green Lane this autumn after her 12-year-old daughter dreamt up a place where customers could enjoy bubble tea, waffles and sweet treats all in one place.
Bubble tea is a drink that originated out of Taiwan, and is made from blending tea with milk, fruit and juices and adding tapioca or fruit pearls.
Neha said her daughter wanted a place “where people of all ages and backgrounds felt welcomed and could talk to a friendly person rather than the fast-paced, impersonal service and disposable culture associated with bubble tea shops”.
Another thing that was important to Neha was to ensure that all the furniture and fittings in the cafe were made from sustainable materials.
She said: “The chairs are made from the plastic which is fished out of the oceans and the floor tiles are recycled materials.
“All of our packaging is recyclable and we will be bringing in reusable cups and straws in the new year.”
