Kings Langley is known for its great coffee, community spirit, and independent shops, yet residents worry they won’t be able to enjoy what’s on offer after paid parking is introduced.
In a letter to Gagan Mohindra, MP for South West Hertfordshire, and Dacorum Borough Council, residents and business owners of the village shared their “strong opposition” to the proposed parking changes on the High Street.
The letter states: “This change would have a detrimental impact on our community, reducing footfall and harming local businesses that rely on the support of both residents and visitors.
“Our High Street is the heart of Kings Langley, a place where people come together to shop, dine, and socialise. Introducing paid parking would discourage people from visiting, leading to a decline in customer numbers.”
Now, people have been invited to sign a petition against the parking fares.
One resident shared: “Paid parking will devastate our village, kill our shops and destroy our social hubs.”
