Zara Lancashire, 20, of no fixed abode, Hemel Hempstead, pleaded guilty today (Wednesday, December 3) at St Albans Crown Court to the following offences:
- Four counts of distributing indecent images of a child
- Three counts of making indecent images of a child
- Four counts of publishing an obscene article via a chat application
Lancashire has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
She previously worked at Flower Pots Day Nursery in Kings Langley.
Detective Chief Inspector James Howarth, from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Public Protection Command, said: “Zara Lancashire has admitted to serious offences committed while in a position of trust. We welcome that she will now be brought to justice.
“I want to reassure the public and parents of the nursery that following a thorough investigation by my detectives, which involved speaking to over 100 parents and guardians, no evidence was found relating to any child who attended Flower Pots Day Nursery. All of Lancashire’s offences were committed online. I would like to thank those parents and guardians for their patience and cooperation during what was understandably a very worrying time.”
