Radio Christmas, a festive radio station broadcasting right from the heart of Amersham, has made the month of December special for residents.
The self-proclaimed number one festive charity radio station is being run entirely by volunteers from a make-shift studio in Sycamore Road, raising money for the charity Street Kids Direct.
They’ve been bringing listeners a fantastic variety of music and shows throughout the month of December, leading up to Christmas Day.
Street Kids Direct have a studio in the Protection Home in Guatemala City that links with them to bring you shows from around the world, too.
Street Kids Direct, which is run by several Amersham volunteers, work with street-living children and youth, and with vulnerable families to prevent children from living on the streets in Guatemala and Honduras.
A personal message from the Radio Christmas team reads: “Thank you for listening to Radio Christmas and for joining us during this festive season. We hope you love the variety of shows that we bring to you, and we wish you a very happy Christmas.
“We would also like to thank you for your kind donations, as we are here to raise money to give street kids in Central America a happier Christmas and future.
“One-hundred per cent of your gift will go directly to the projects we support in Guatemala and Honduras, so thank you for helping us to make a difference.”
They add: “All donations are being doubled due to £25,000.00 match funding, so please do give all you can. It will make such a wonderful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and youth.”
There are several ways to listen to the station now; including on your phone via an app, online, or via 87.7FM. Find out more about how to tune in at radiochristmas.co.uk/radio/how-to-listen
