The Friends of Headstone Manor Park (FoHMRG) are encouraging locals to celebrate the spooky season with a free event celebrating the life of bats.
Residents will be guided around Headstone Manor Park for the annual Bat Walk on Friday, October 27. They will be given special detectors to listen out for the flying creatures, as well as taking part in a bat quiz, bat storytelling and origami bat-making.
This comes as part of BatFest, a nationwide month dedicated to celebrating bats all the way up until Halloween. This includes donating to bat conservation charities and taking part in bat extracurriculars such as bat walks and bat DIY projects.
A spokesperson for FoHMRG told Pinnernews: “FoHMRG support BatFest as it offers a unique range of events and activities exploring the world of bats and celebrating these remarkable animals.”
The FoHMRG are hosting a number of other events across October such as storytelling in the park and children’s crafting workshop. To find out more and to book your place on the Bat Walk, please visit www.headstonemanorpark.org
