Watford FC have announced the departure of head coach Quique Sánchez Flores this afternoon (December 1).
Watford bosses are now on the search for their third manager of the 19/20 campaign after previously sacking Javi Gracia earlier this season.
A statement by the club read: “With regret, Watford Football Club confirms the departure of Head Coach Quique Sánchez Flores.
“Quique is a man of great integrity and it was clear how much he wanted to have a positive impact, but ultimately results have dictated our decision.
“The appointment of a new Head Coach is imminent, and with nearly two-thirds of the season remaining, we will provide all the support necessary to make the coming months successful,” said Hornets’ Chairman & CEO Scott Duxbury.
“No further comment from Watford FC will be made until a new Head Coach is announced.”
After winning one game in 10 Premier League games this season and the reputation the Watford board have in not waiting around to give their manager time, it was always looking very dark forSánchez Flores.
Now the search for a new head coach begins for the Hornets with Chris Hughton leading the race according to the bookies.
