A man is in a critical condition following a medical emergency at a leisure centre in South Oxhey.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed that officers were called to South Oxhey Leisure Centre on Gosforth Lane at 4.55pm (yesterday) on Sunday, January 11. Emergency services, including the East of England Ambulance Service and the Herts and Essex Air Ambulance, also attended the incident.
Police said the call related to a medical emergency. A man in his 40s was taken to the hospital by road ambulance and remains in a critical condition.
A witness shared their experience on social media, saying they passed the leisure centre shortly after 5pm and saw several police vehicles, including unmarked cars, along with two ambulances When they returned later in the evening, police officers and one ambulance were still at the scene. The commenter added that they hoped everyone involved was okay.
A spokesperson for the leisure centre confirmed that it has since reopened and is operating as normal.
