BREAKING: Closure order secured following anti-social behaviour in near Watford

Published on: 16th November 2024   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A closure order was secured on a property in Oxhey Hall yesterday (Thursday, November 14) following an application made by the Three Rivers Community Safety Unit (CSU) and Oxhey Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT).

The order was granted at St Albans Magistrates’ Court to close the property in Anthony Close for three months, due to the anti-social behaviour (ASB) of the tenant, drug use, noise issues and numerous people attending the address in the early hours most days.

Officers had received numerous complaints of anti-social behaviour over several months.

The closure order was granted under the ASB Crime and Policing Act 2014. It bans anyone, other than police or maintenance workers, from entering the property for three months.

NPT Sergeant Andrew Blackwood, said: “Officers were called to the address on numerous occasions due to reports of anti-social behaviour and this behaviour was escalating.

“Local residents should not have to put up with this kind of activity impacting on their daily lives in this way. I hope this has reassured the community that we take reports like this very seriously and shows our robustness in taking action against those who wish to commit ASB in properties in Three Rivers.

“We will use every available tactic to tackle anti-social behaviour and I would continue to urge members of the community to report any behaviour of this nature to the police.”
