BOWLED OVER: Thriving Rickmansworth girls’ cricket teams triumph in 2025 competitions

Rickmansworth Cricket Club’s (RCC) girls’ section is celebrating a landmark year after achieving a variety of successes in 2025.

Since its inception in 2020, the girls’ section has grown from a handful of enthusiastic players to a thriving community of 54 young athletes.

The 2025 season was a momentous one for the club. From January to April, five qualified coaches led indoor training sessions at Rickmansworth School. As the weather warmed, the players then transitioned to outdoor training at RCC, where they continued to hone their abilities and prepare for competitive matches.

The results spoke volumes. The newly formed U9 team, featuring girls as young as six, stunned local rivals by finishing top of their league in their debut season.

Not to be outdone, the U11 team also clinched the top spot in their league, losing only one game all season – a historic achievement for the club.

In addition to the team triumphs, individual excellence shone through this season. One of RCC’s talented U14 players was selected for the prestigious Hertfordshire Girls ECB Pathway Programme and proudly represented the Hertfordshire U15 Girls at the Malvern Cricket Tournament during the summer. She also made club history by becoming the first female to play in a Saturday Hertfordshire League match for RCC, representing the club’s newly formed Fifth XI.

Looking ahead to 2026, RCC are setting their sights even higher. Plans are already underway to launch U13 and U15 teams. Winter training will resume at Rickmansworth School in January, and new players of all experience levels are invited to join.

RCC are proud to have ongoing sponsorship from local estate agent Trend & Thomas. RCC have also announced their new shirt sponsor for 2026, Steven Eagell Toyota Cars.
