The ladies’ team at Croxley Guild Bowls Club emerged triumphant in the semi-final of the South West Herts League.
The team gave it their all and secured three wins from the four disciplines in their match against St Albans Bowling Club.
Spokesperson Hazel Clarke explained how scoring works: “There are four disciplines, a singles match (first to 21 shots), pairs match (18 ends), triples match (18 ends), and fours match (18 ends).
“You need to win three disciplines to take a win but if there is a draw with two disciplines won by each team, then it comes down to the number of shots achieved overall and the higher being the winner. All disciplines are played simultaneously.”
Having beat the St Albans club in three of the four disciplines, the Croxley team have now progressed to the South Herts Area Final, where they will play against Herts Bowls Club on neutral turf.
The winner will then go on to play in the National Finals.
