Rickmansworth station is to benefit from step-free access making it more accessible to the less abled, older people and parents with children and buggies.
This is good news for Three Rivers District Council residents as Tube travel becomes more accessible for everyone. The Council are already looking into the timing, nature and impacts of the proposal.
Unfortunately, Croxley is not in the current phase of stations approved in December 2017. However, it is included in the running for another phase to be announced in June this year.
The work is a key part of the Mayor’s draft Transport Strategy, which aims to create a fairer, greener, healthier and more prosperous city by improving public transport and reducing reliance on car journeys.
Martin Trevett, Lead Member for Housing, Planning and Strategic Schemes said: “We are delighted that Rickmansworth will have step-free access, we want our stations to be more accessible to everyone. We hope to see Croxley Green added to the scheme in the near future.”

Uh-oh. As someone who worked on the London Underground for 8 years and still having a love of all things trains, Mr. Trevett, it is not Croxley Green station. Croxley Green Station is the old NWR station, sat somewhere in the bushes near a kids play area (never thought I would put station and kids play area in the same sentence). Croxley LUL is the correct name.
Apologies if anyone thinks that is pedantic but having OCD is absolute nightmare when these sort of things crop up. I can’t help but correct the error.
