TEAM SPIRIT: Chorleywood futsal team crowned county champions

Published on: 13th November 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

A youth football team in Chorleywood were crowned champions at a futsal cup last month.

Chorleywood Common Youth FC U12s took part in the eighth Hertfordshire FA Youth Futsal Cup competition where boys and girls aged eight to 16 years compete for a chance to reach the national finals.

Jon Morrow, who managed the team on the day, said: “The boys played brilliantly together as a team.

“They worked equally as hard off the ball as on the ball. A combination of skill, one touch passing, expansive movement and exceptional goal scoring ensured the boys went the tournament unbeaten.

“It was an extremely well-run tournament and all the teams were a credit to their respective clubs.”

Futsal is a five-a-side game, played on a hard surface to lines with Futsal Goals (hockey sized) and size appropriate Futsal ball with a reduced bounce.

The Futsal Cup provides local teams with an opportunity to represent Hertfordshire FA and at national level where they could end up facing some of the country’s top sides.
