Published on: 16th January 2018   |   By: Amy Pollard   |   Category: Uncategorized

Booklovers were given a treat recently when they were able to spend the evening with writer and illustrator Judith Kerr.

The event, which was held on December 13, was organised by Chorleywood Bookshop to celebrate her new book Katinka’s Tail published by Harper Collins Kids.

The evening with Judith was held at local historical house Chenies Manor, where everyone gathered in the Long Room and filled up on mulled wine and mince pies.

The audience listened attentively as Judith talked about her fascinating life, her writing and illustrating process and inspiration behind her magical stories.

A spokesperson from Chorleywood bookshop said: “It was a wonderful turnout despite the snow. We stayed warm with mulled wine, mince pies and a roaring fire.

“The night was enjoyed by all. It was a privilege to host such a noted children’s author. Our audience was delighted to hear Judith speak and ask her questions about her fascinating life.

“We all had a wonderful night and can’t wait for her next book.

“If anyone missed out on the event, we still have signed copies of Judith’s books in the shop.”

Chorleywood Bookshop have a host of other events coming up including evenings with Melissa Hemsley on Monday, January 29, Ruby Wax on Friday, February 2 and Charles Spencer on Friday, February 16.
