A controlled explosion took place in Cassiobury Park today (October 2) by a bomb disposal team.
Herts Police confirm a pre-planned controlled explosion in Watford took place which is believed to be old firearms and ammunition.
The EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) set up a 200m as a precaution and there was no threat to the public.
The operation lasted until around 1pm.
A Herts Police spokeswoman added: “There will be a heavy emergency services presence in the area, but members of the public are advised that there is no risk to them, and the incident is not terror-related.”
