A man was left with blistering injuries after a corrosive substance was sprayed in his face in Bushey on New Year’s Eve.
The incident took place at around 9.30pm on Saturday, December 31. The victim was sitting inside a vehicle parked on Harcourt Road when he was approached by an unidentified male who knocked on the window.
The victim then opened the vehicle’s door, upon which the assailant sprayed an unknown substance into his face, causing blistering. The suspect then made off. No items were stolen from the scene.
A spokesperson for Herts Police said: Enquiries are continuing at this time to establish the circumstances around the incident. Anyone with information is asked to please contact police, quoting crime reference 41/4/23.”
The East of England Ambulance Service said: ““We were called at 9.36pm on December 31 to Harcourt Road in Bushey with reports that a man had had a substance sprayed in his face.
“An ambulance and ambulance officer were sent to the scene and, after assessing the patient, decided no critical care resource was required. The man was transported to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
